Seder Meal1

Eating at the MCC youth group is nothing new but on Sunday evening last week (24th Mar) we met together for a feast of a rather unusual kind. Using a liturgy provided by a Jewish family we walked ourselves through the various stages of a Seder meal, the dinner at which Jewish families traditionally commemorate the Passover. Instead of a roasted lamb we had lamb kebabs but apart from that (and the non-alcoholic wine!) we stayed pretty close to what would usually be part of the traditional service. It was a great opportunity to learn a little more about the roots of our faith and to see just how much the story of Jesus brings to fulfilment the story of Israel.  Our thanks to everybody who helped to make it happen. Next year in Jerusalem!
