The Alpha Course once again returns to MCC this autumn. For those of you who don’t a whole lot about Alpha, here’s a little bit of information to get you started:

Participants meet weekly, enjoy some tea/coffee and treats and listen to a presentation lasting around 25 minutes. They then break into smaller groups to discuss the presentation and any questions they may have concerning the topic introduced by it. It’s as simple as that.

The basic outline of the Course is as followers:Alpha-Logo

Week 1 Who is Jesus?

Week 2 Why did Jesus Die?

Week 3 How can we have Faith?

Week 4 Why and how should I read the Bible?

Week 5 Why and how do I Pray?

Week 6 (Saturday am) Who is the Holy Spirit? ?

Week 7 How does God Guide us?

Week 8 What is the Church?

You can find out more information about the Alpha Course on its Irish website (www.alphacourse.ie) or just by googling it on your PC. The ‘What is Alpha?’ section on the official website is particularly helpful.

Our next Alpha Course kicks off on October 10th at 8:00PM in the Resource Centre on Main Street, Maynooth. We’ll have tea and coffee to start off, and then dive into each session, finishing at 9:30PM sharp.

We’re also delighted to kick off an Alpha Course in NUI Maynooth in association with the NUI Maynooth Chaplaincy. The College Alpha launches on October 10th at 5:45PM  in Chill Cafe beside the SU Office.

To allow us to prepare handouts and for catering purposes please let us know if you would like to come. You can do this either by sending us an email to our office (office@maynoothcc.org) or by calling us on 01 5054990.

We’ll look forward to seeing you!
