On 25th November 2012 we celebrated MCC’s 5th Birthday with our special service in the school and the inevitably large amounts of coffee and goodies to follow. Amidst our welcome guests from around our community, our guest speaker was the Right Rev Roy Patton, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland for 2012/2013 and Rev Brian Colvin from Newry represented the Board of Mission in Ireland. It was an evening of thanksgiving and celebration as well a wonderful opportunity to be envisioned for the next steps on our journey as a new church. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it all happen.
Thanksgiving Tree
One of the creative elements at our service was our “Thanksgiving Tree”. This was a simple but beautiful display using printed and hand written leaves on which our members had written something of the thanksgiving they feel for what God has been doing amongst us over these first 5 years.
Photoboard
At our reception afterwards we also had a large Photoboard containing some of the many photos that we have taken at our various events. This too was a powerful reminder of all that God has been doing with us.
We had a great night and look forward to doing it all again at our 10th!
