Our Youth Group went on a fantastic week trip this year, heading to Young Life’s brand new camp on Loch Monzievaird in Scotland. The group left from Lucan with another group from Greystones to start the journey. They stopped at Bangor overnight to get to know their fellow irishman with some games and fun. With little sleep they left for the port at 4 a.m. to finish the journey to Cairn Brae and began a week to remember.
The kids arrived with the rain but this didn’t dampen their spirits. Other groups arrived from Northern Ireland and the groups immediately started mingling, with MCC kids leading the charge with all the activities provided.These were great fun, with many daily activities like octoball, frisbee golf, and swimmig. There were also group activies like volleyball competitions, airsofting, kayaking and much much more! These active activities were coupled with some hilarious skits and dramas, along with a fun fair, ceili night and a team mud crawl challenge. Safe to say we got covered! There was also a shop to buy food and Young Life accessories, and a leader room for those early morning meetings! Randy Nickles was this year’s speaker and had great impact on the teens, leading to some impacting talks in cabin time. The teens came home buzzing with excitement for going next year, and want to bring all their friends along, as the camp is very centred around introducing the gospel to teens with their friends beside them for a fun and life changing week! On to 2017!
