On November 13th, we were delighted to welcome Emma Lynch from Tearfund and our own Louise Hacking from Christian Unions Ireland for our November Mission Sunday. It was great to hear some of what these mission partners are currently working on and we enjoyed a soup and cheese lunch afterwards.
On Friday the 28th of October our youth group ventured up North to The MAD Weekend joining over a thousand other teens from around the country. In the University of Coleraine they learnt how to get Plugged into Jesus, Plugged into the Church and Plugged into My World, all while having tons of fun! […]
On Sun 2nd Oct 2016 MCC held its annual October Pot Luck Lunch in Manor Mills with all its usual delicious main courses and desserts! This year’s MCC Arts Festival took place on Saturday 17th September on Maynooth Square. Our theme was “Ordinary Plenty” from the poem ‘Advent’ by Patrick Kavenagh and, as always, we had such a fun time sharing with our wider community on what proved to be a lovely dry and warm day. During the afternoon, our largest crowd ever enjoyed playing […]
Our Youth Group went on a fantastic week trip this year, heading to Young Life’s brand new camp on Loch Monzievaird in Scotland. The group left from Lucan with another group from Greystones to start the journey. They stopped at Bangor overnight to get to know their fellow irishman with some games and fun.

Since she was not baptised as a baby, and since she wanted to be baptised by immersion, we enlisted the help of the good folks at the Lucan Centre to enable us the perfect […]

Combining readings, song and silence, Tenebrae begins in light but after each reading a candle is blown out […]
A Candle is lit. As we now walk towards the joy of the Easter sunrise, perhaps you remember the advent candle lit not so long ago, these very traditions reminding us that life is always made up of seasons? I have one friend who always lights a candle when she eats as a reminder that […]
On Saturday 5th March, MCC was delighted to host this year’s World Day of Prayer Service prepared by the women of Cuba. This year’s theme was “Receive Children, Receive Me” and the reflection was given by our own Mrs Alison King. As you can see from the photos below, the decorations around the theme were a beautiful […]
Those who have never been to the Judean wilderness can only guess at the circumstances of Jesus’ forty days there. I have only experienced the Outback of Australia. Truly the silence is intense and added to the lack of food Jesus’ senses must have been razor sharp. Silence has a unique quality in our relationship […]
