The Alpha Course
What happens at the Alpha Course?
The Alpha Course in MCC is an 8 week introduction to the message of Jesus. We gather, enjoy some tea/coffee and treats, and then watch an Alpha video presentation lasting around 25 minutes. We then break into smaller groups to discuss the presentation and discuss any questions those present may have concerning the topic introduced by it. It’s as simple as that.
The basic outline of the Course is as follows:
Week 1 – Introduction: Is there more to life than this?
Week 2 – Who is Jesus?
Week 3 – Why did Jesus Die?
Week 4 – How can we have Faith?
Week 5 – Why and how should I Pray?
Week 6 – How and Why should I read the Bible?
Week 7 – Who is the Holy Spirit?
Week 8 – What is the Church?
You can find out more information about the Alpha Course on its Irish website (http://ireland.alpha.org) or just by googling it on your PC. The ‘What is Alpha?’ section on the official website is particularly helpful.
Our next Alpha Course starts at 7.15pm on Thursday 13th Feb 2020. Our venue is the first floor in the Manor Mills shopping centre. (Entrance is along the river path on the town side of Manor Mills. We use the Maynooth Education Campus Entrance.) If you would like any further information please feel free to send an email to our office (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call Keith on 086 8530096.
We’ll look forward to seeing you!
